Entry Categories

Entry Categories for 2026

Pants and Pockets - Designers will create an outfit that features trousers and pockets from reused fabrics of their choice.
Birthday Party - Designers will create  an outfit to wear to a party from reused fabrics of their choice.
Shoddy Challenge - Designers will create a piece of clothing or a home goods item that incorporates shoddy (fabric donated by Bainbridge Islanders that was shredded) that we provide as a significant part of the design.
Rotary Remix Challenge - Designers will create a piece of clothing or home goods from materials that ReFashion collected from past Rotary Rummage Sales: choice of felted sweaters, upholstery fabric, curtain fabric, or yarn.
Mystery Box Challenge—We will have a sew-in day March 29, 2026, 10am-5pm, maximum of 14 participants, at the Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN). At this challenge, designers will be presented with a box of curated materials at the start of the day. They will have the day to create an outfit alone or in a team. Items not finished by the end of the day will need to be completed by walk-through day, tentatively scheduled for April 22 at the BI Museum of Art.
 If entering any of the three categories below, please submit your entry form by January 31, along with a design indicating the style and materials you will use: 
  • Pants and Pockets
  • Birthday Party
  • Shoddy Challenge

If entering either of the two categories below, please submit your entry form by January 31 and your design by April 5, indicating the style and materials you will use:

  • Mystery Box Challenge
